Medical Research Scotland Academy 2023

The Medical Research Scotland Academy is an interactive learning series for S4, S5 and S6 pupils across Scotland. The free interactive learning series aims to give pupils of all abilities the opportunity to learn from inspiring scientists taking a deeper look into what their research involves.

Pupils will learn how they can start their own careers to support medical breakthroughs. This year we saw the highest number of sign-ups with 36 schools across Scotland tuning in each week from Orkney to Galashiels.

The pupils learned about medical research and the different roles that can be undertaken in the field with topics such as how medical research supported the global pandemic, business development in research and 3D printing from PhD students from the University of Aberdeen and Heriot-Watt University alongside industry experts in the medical field.
