Construction of a tool to monitor the influence of diet on cancerassociated microsatellite instability Heriot Watt University Past award Student: Constance Gwangwava : Heriot-Watt University Year Award Started: 2013 It is known that diet can affect health. The aim of the project is to create a reporter system which is capable of indicating whether or not specific dietary components have an influence on maintaining the integrity of the genetic material, DNA. Investigations of the impact of diet on genome integrity can provide information on how dietary choice plays a role in instigating or preventing the onset of diseases, such as cancer, associated with genome instability.
