Colorectal cancer is one of the most commmon types of cancer.  It is the thrid most common cancer in men and the second most common in women. It is being increasingly recognized that an inflammatory response is an important factor associated with colorectal patient outcome and survival.  In this project we will investigate what it is a the level of the cell that links inflamtion with tumour growth.  To do this we will stain human colorectal tumours for cetain proteins and see if these are linked to inflammation associated with the tumour or general inflammation in the patient.
