Why Support Medical Research Scotland?
Quite simply because you will be helping to ensure that Medical Research Scotland, the country's largest and most comprehensive research charity, can continue to make a difference:
- to doctors, scientists and healthcare professionals in Scotland, by enabling them to take the first steps on the road to a research career
- to medical research by supporting work which improves the understanding of disease processes
- to the diagnosis and treatment of disease by supporting research of direct clinical relevance
Further, you will be continuing a tradition of giving to support medical research in Scotland. The contributions of the individuals and organisations who had given generously to support medical research in Scotland's many hospitals prior to the creation of the NHS, formed the original endowment fund for Medical Research Scotland. Since then, many generous gifts and legacies (coupled with prudent investment) have helped to maintain and augment that fund.
