Mission Statement
The aim of Medical Research Scotland is to:
Improve health by funding high-quality research into the cause, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of human disease, and into the advancement of medical technology.
Its duties are to:
- hold and administer donations and bequests
- develop and exploit ideas and intellectual property (patents) related to health improvement
Medical Research Scotland fulfils its duties by:
supporting medically and scientifically qualified individuals by giving them the opportunity to pursue high-calibre research either independently or in collaborative research programmes within Scotland.
